Best way to start in my opinion.. I would not even let my wife think about riding until she took the course..

Yup, I took it after I had been riding about 10 years because the military requred it to bring the bike on base. Learned a lot and am really glad I took it.

I took it too, well worth the money and my insurance company gives a discount for it.

It was a very good cource.
I would recommend it to everyone who rides a bike

good plan to take it

i was trained by my dad
and have rode street bikes since 14

I have been told from guys and gals that have rode for years and years that they took the class after 15 & 20 yrs of riding and they learned more than they ever thought possible.

Heard it is an excellent class to take - even pros.

One of the statistics to come out of the Hurt report that analyzed data from over 4000 motorcycle accidents:

The motorcycle riders involved in accidents are essentially without training; 92% were self-taught or learned from family or friends. Motorcycle rider training experience reduces accident involvement and is related to reduced injuries in the event of accidents.

I have taken the Beginners course, advanced course and a racing course, you always seem to take something away with you when the class is finished. I have ridden since I was 5, raced Moto-X from 8 to 14 and road street bikes from 16 to 46. I love it all, if its two wheels I enjoy it, Dirt, Cruise, Sport if you want to learn get on a small bike, 250 to 600, and learn the controls and how they work. After you have your License and are somewhat comfortable in you abilities, take the beginers course, it will teach you so much you will be amazed. As you get better you will get cocky and feel very comfortable, this is when many people get hurt, and also the perfect time to take the advanced riders course. It will humble you and make you raelize just what you really dont know. I think for me the most important class was the advanced riders course, I firmly believe I am here today because of that class. The racing class is just that and for the track only.
