I haven't heard of any bigguns killed on Bear Hollow but from what I heard they are on the move though.

Heading up there friday. It should be good with the cooler weather coming . Hopeing to finish the season out on a good note on the Mtn.

I've hunted bear hollow the last 5 days and have yet to see a deer. Guess I need to go in further, not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The deer numbers on the mountain are way down. Most of the deer are in the valley because of the lack of acorns this year. I have hunted hard since Dec. 9th. The worst year in 30+years of hunting the mountain as far as numbers of deer seen while hunting. If I were going to hunt Bear Hollow this weekend I would hunt as close to HWY 16 as legally possible. They are eating the grass on the side of the hwy pretty good.

Funny, I decided to move closer to the main road, my last 2 days there. I FINALLY SAW A DEER. Very nice buck. wouldnt you know it. lol

Hunted there friday and saw a big 8 chasing a doe by me at about 35 yds. Couldn't get a shot . Went back today hunted all day and saw nothing. Wished the season was open one more week.

Season definitely closes a week earlier than ideal for us down here on the Bama line. Lots of buck activity the last 10 days...
As said above, the lack of acorns this year had them moving to lower elevations or to the nearest green food sources.
