Bear dilemma

I recently purchased 5 acres and about 1/2 is wooded. I have been getting a bear on the camera at least once a week. The land is close to farms and houses, would you shoot it with a bow or wait for the gun season. I was kind of a afraid to use the bow because if it does not go down quick it may wind up on another person's land or be mad enough to harm the cattle. What do you all think?

After a shot it should remain in the wwods. I would stick it without a thought. good luck to ya!

Thanks for the input, if it does present me with a good shot I will take it. Tndrbstr we are getting a lot more bear up here they usually hunt them with dogs. One part of the North Cherokee WMA you can hunt bear and we usually see at least 3 or 4 during the season.

You do realize ALL of the bait will have to be gone at least ten days before hunting?

Yes I do, I thought it was 2 weeks before the opening of the season.

I'd say, once the food (bait,corn..golden inducer) is gone... your bear will be gone also. Looks to be a juvenile boar who is probably trying to find a place to call home. They move around alot. I wouldn't worry about him until he gets into the garbage.

When the pic was taken it was about 7 - 7.5 ft, I now have it about 9 ft.
