Can anybody give me any info on hunting Foothills WMA? I am considering hunting bear & boar there. Are there good populations of bear or boar there? What type of terrain is it? Is it hard to find/get to? Parking? Check stations, etc? Thanks a lot!!!

good luck. big mountains. not a lot of game and they keep giving land to the park so places i used to hunt are now park.

I've hunted the foothills for 3 years now. For the past 2 years, the gun bear hunts have been with dogs. As far as I know, there is just one place to park for all the hunters and then it is a 2 mile hike until you get to public land. There are a ton of hunters there and most are not too friendly to out of towners, as I have found out. I have seen one bear cub in 3 years. Better place to go is Doe Mountain in Johnson County.
