Beach river??

Anybody ever fished it, I noticed I'm pretty close to it but I don't know anything about it

Its just one of many bays off of the Tennessee river, relatively shallow and full of fish, just about everything that is in the river, particularly largemouths, white and yellow bass, channels and flatheads(If I were after blues I'd stay in the river, although they are also in the bay). Lots of crappie, bluegill and shellcrackers, and if you are into them, carp, buffalo and gar. The public ramps that I know of are at hwy 100 northwest side and at the mouth of the bay on the point at the river which is SE side.

Easy I fish it alot. We can hook up this spring and do some fishing. You are pretty close to me I think.

Yeah, although I haven't personally run up and down it. There are a lot of stumps, but most have been marked with poles(hint, by crappie fishermen). My son's in-laws have a place on it and they regularly take a pontoon boat from their place to the river. Its mainly a river from its mouth to up past lost creek marina. But there are pockets off the channel. We have caught a ton of stripes,cats bream and bass off the bank.

Yeah I know where Beech river, Parsons, etc. are, I just thought that at one time you had mentioned a lease or something that you were involved in being up in the NW part of the county, as mine is in the NE 10 miles NE of town. My access on Beech is in Featherfoot point development on the North shore,where on the water is your farm?

Ah. I've never been involved in a lease in Decatur County. My grandfather lived there and my mom and her sisters were raised in Parsons so I spent a lot of time growing up down there.

Our property is on just off Highway 69 in Decaturville. Middleburg Road is our main access road to the farm. The Beech is our property boundary to the north. I wish I could be more descriptive, but I honestly don't know the Beech all that well. Just the part that touches the farm. It's a pretty fertile river from what I've seen.

We've considered hiring someone to build up a little ramp so we could access the river easier. At the moment we have to deal with some fairly steep shoreline along most of the water, but nothing you can't toss a line over to fish.

The worst part is when the beaver start building dams. We've had the entire lower portion of the farm flooded at times.

So, you are upstream where it is actually a river. Our hangout is downstream from you where it is actually a large bay more lakelike than river, although there is current flowing , and the best stripe and catfishing is in the old river channel.
I apparently had you mixed up with someone else, who was telling me on here about seeing fallow deer up to the northeast(they are supposedly on the Holiday Ranch under high fence). I have seen them both on the inside and outside of the fences, and we saw a nice buck cross the road several miles to the east of the ranch.

Do yall catch any stripes in the springtime? I'm sure that those we catch are working their way up into the river toward you. And we have seen a cottonmouth or two mainly at night in the summer. I'm sure up at your place with beaver dams and all that they are abundant. lol

Never have caught a stripe. We usually just fish with minnows or nightcrawlers under a float or soft plastics around any structure. I've never targeted stripe specifically.

Most people that put in there go out to the river(Tennessee)right side of your boat as you put in. However, if you are crappie fishing there are downed trees all up and down, some are within sight up to the left on the north bank(right or ramp side). That's the direction that you go to run the full length of the bay. I can't attest to the fishing right now, but people are catching crappie other places and it is a very good crappie place.

Try some crappie(small) minnows. They bite them real good. Also, it will keep the bream at bay and give any perch that may be around a chance to find your bait, not to mention any crappie that might be in the area. Small spinners are very good perch lures also.
