gettin to a mile with the 6.5x47 and still be able to zero at 100 yards may be attainable after all,,

first test with the Barrett ZGER rings,,I am impressed,,fired one shot on an old target and made one adjustment on the scope,,then moved to my test target,

first shot hit a little high and left but touching the top one inch dot,,I then switched the pin in the rings from the 15 MOA taper to the 40 MOA taper,,my next shot was fired at the bottom one inch dot with no adjustments on the scope and hit 22.25 inches high,,
I then switched the pin back to the 15 MOA taper and fired one shot at the top dot the same as the first shot and hit exactly 1/2 inch to the right from the first shot ,,

in the instructions it stated to mount the rings 9 slots apart on the pic rail but I mounted the rings 10 slots apart to fit me better on the gun,,I believe if mounted per the instructions the bullet holes would have been 25 inches apart instead of 22.25,,but I was more concerned with them returning to zero than the exact amount of travel,,

IMO to shot and switch holes and shot and switch back with .5 MOA precision is plenty good,

in the 15 taper hole I can zero at 100 yards and get out to about 1550,,in the 40 taper hole about 700 will be as close as I can zero and should be able to reach a mile on the knobs with no holdover,,actually hitting anything will be another matter all together ,but

man I am tickled to death
