I guess I've never put any thought into this before and just shot new guns and cleaned em after first shooting session. is there any actual procedures that y'all follow that might improve accuracy.
Thanks
I don't think it matters on the shot routine, just don't let the barrel get real hot. I usually shoot a slow 5 shot group and clean. After about 50 rounds I will polish the barrel out with JB bore paste and then run a tight patch slowly down the barrel to feel any tool marks or burrs. I'm a firm believer that the JB polishing in the break in cycle will make a great shooter.Like this.
I've never followed any kind of break-in procedure and never had any problems. What is the reason for cleaning a new gun so many times the first 50 rounds or so? I've heard of it but never fully understood why.
