According to Weather2hunt.com, rising is excellent, steady is fair, falling is very good. Personally, anytime im hunting is an excellent time !!

No.

Rapidly changing pressure is a plus, but there's no guarantee.

The remainder of this week and the weekend should be fine (after today) I have seen the most movement on the upswing of BP.

I've heard a few different writers say 29.88- 30.30 with a sweet spot of 30.20-30.30 . Bsk, do you agree with this or do you think it has more to do with the overall weather conditions and pattern? I have payed attention to it for the last few years and the deer did seem to move more with rising pressure, and once pressure was above 30.20. Honestly, the only time there wasn't much movement when the pressure was at 30.15+ and rising, was when the wind was consistently above 10 mph

I think this is a perfect example of why any one meteorological factor is not as important as the over-all weather. Although deer tend to move more as a front approaches (rapidly falling atmospheric pressure), deer movement is usually highest a day or two after a cold front passes, when the atmospheric pressure is high and stable. Unlike the falling pressure of a front approaching, this post-frontal peak activity is driven by the cooler temperatures instead of the atmospheric pressure.

In essence, it isn't any one aspect of the weather that drives daylight deer movement (pressure, wind direction/speed, cloud cover, temperature, etc.), it is the over-all weather produced by the full combination of weather variables.
