Are these any good seen some at the store were $34 for 20 or so had a blue tip.

They are real good. I tried a bunch of bullets before i settled on barnes. Ive never heard anything bad about them and i love them. Most accurate mz bullet ive seen

The 195gr barnes is just what the DR ordered for deer when pushing them at 2700FPS out of a 45cal smokeless muzzy..I have shot 3 deer with them and they are very impressive.Shot a doe right through both shoulders,and it hit the main leg bone/shoulder bone on the way out and still passed thru.

I'm shooting the 195 grain also in my 45 but just not as fast as cecil does but they still do the job. Very accurate out of my Encore using harvester sabots and 120 grains of blackhorn.

How is this for performance?
250gr Barnes MZ
30yd, almost straight on shot, broke shoulder, penetrated heart, recovered under skin on hindquarter.
Every other MZ I have shot has been complete pass through, no matter what it hits.

barnes are awesome. shot them for several years. alot of pass throughs with them, some didn't but most of the time if a deer ran they didn't go more than 30 yds.

The Barnes Expanders were what I shot out of my old Knight MK85, and I didn't mind paying for the peace of mind they gave me compared to the pistol bullets I started off with. The only issue I've had with the Barnes is being hard to load in tight, Triple 7 fouled bores, even with swabbing between shots. Gonna try the new Barnes T-EZ's out of my N.E. Huntsman 50 cal. barrel though, and hopefully, accuracy isn't the trade-off with the new, easier to load sabots. We'll see, but if accuracy does decrease, the regular Barnes sabots should be easier to load with Blackhorn 209 or Alliant Black MZ, anyhow. I'm gonna try the latter, since from what I've read, I won't need another breech plug.

I tried two versions in my Knight and they wouldn't group. Others have had terrific results but know that every gun is an individual and yours may or may not shoot them well.

Barnes TMZ, hard to load but the most accurate and devastating bullet I've shot!

yep those TMZ's are a mother to load! I did shoot a 1 1/4" 3 shot group at 150 yards today with 110gr BH209 from an Accura V2. First time with those bullets and accuracy was superb. Loading with a factory ramrod? I'd probably have cried after getting the first shot down LOL.

I must be doing something wrong then because I love how the BARNES TMZs load so easily in my Accura V2.

Frontier..... Sure not talking about those Thor/Barnes. Insanely hard to load!
