Who or what agency is responsible for this property? I have been driving by this tiny spot for 3 years and only recently realized what it is supposed to be.
I was shocked when I entered the property.
1. The sign is not legible, in fact its barley identifiable. Shotgun blasts and more have long destroyed it.
2. The road is dirt / sand in a river bottom, full of ruts and holes and is only passable in a 4X4 or UTV.
3. There are 3 oak trees down and in the road, someone has cut a passage thru but not cleaned up.
4. There is seriously enough litter there to fill a large roll off dumpster, yes some is river wash but much is thrown out on site.
5. Its hard to tell which is worse, the abuse or the neglect.
6. Its obvious there has been zero management efforts such as wildlife or plant enhancements.
7. The landing in the slough is not usable due to mud and ruts.
To be fair its also clear that users (many local as obvious by ATV tracks everywhere) abuse the area severely but there is also a total lack of management / enforcement.
I realize this tiny spot on the map is likely on the bottom of a long list of priorities but OMG! If the state does not value this property enough to care for it, clean it up, manage it, protect it, then surrender it to someone who will. Give it to me I'll clean it up, sell it at auction or clean up the trash destroy whats left of the road, plant water oaks and trench across the gate.
