We "acquired" an over & under this year for Man to use for a while.
He carried it once earlier this year and killed a limit of ducks with it and was done by like 8:00.
He carried it again this morning.
I was "THIS" close to taking the day off and going with him but I didn't.
He ended up not being able to get anyone to go with him so just like all year he just went by himself.
He was running a little late so he said he wasn't really rushing once he got there.
He picked his spot, put out his dozen decoys and probably his duck butt that squirts water, not totally sure.
Hid the boat and walked back and sat down.
5 minutes later he heard some geese.
We have hunted this spot before and heard them last time and saw them but they wouldn't work.
He called a couple times and they came over RIGHT at him.
He pulled up, shot one of them and it dropped like a rock. Moved to the second one and shot it. It fell but wasn't completely dead.
Reloaded and shot again.
2 dead Canada Geese, his first 2 ever and BOTH had bands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First geese and first band(s) at the same time.
He said the last 2 numbers on the bands were 49 & 50.
He is going to send me some pics and the band info later after he gets home.
Yes, as soon as he picked them up and saw 2 bands he packed up and left.
He said it can't do anything but get bad so I am leaving.
Said the boat ran perfectly too.
I am pumped for him.
update:
It was a male and a female and both were banded near Charleston MO in June of 2016.
All it said on age was hatched in 2015 or before.
