Bama ranked ahead of TN

I don't understand it.

Both teams are 2-1, but Bama got demolished by an unranked team in their gaudy loss. Bama lost by 2-3 scores in that game, they were never even in that game.

TN was leading quite a bit in a back and forth game and lost in OT by a long field goal to a team that was ranked #6.

TN was a playoff team last year, bama was not. I don't understand how some teams are just committee darlings no matter what.

The game has changed! There are no longer 4 teams, there's 12! I mean players are paid over and under the tables! NIL should make things be reconsidered…

but the committee keeps showing that stats don't matter as much as a teams name! Why is a team without a win still ranked?

Why isn't Miss state ranked? Because we have a bad name? We have a better record than other teams that are ranked. And we have a ranked win. I'm not saying we will win more than 4 games this year but come on, throw a dog a bone for a week or two until we lose a game…

I agree. I like preseason rankings but I think once the season starts on the field performance should cary more weight.
Maybe 10%-15% preseason and 85%-90% on field performance. Just my opinion.
I also think it won't matter after Alabama's next game. Georgia is tough to beat anywhere much less between the hedges.

I agree that Alabama is ranked to high. I also think Vandy and GT are ranked low.
Tennessee has looked very good and should be undefeated. Miss St has also looked good.
Vandy beat Alabama last year. That should have no bearing on this year.
After the season starts I think the preseason rankings should count for 10-15 percent of the rankings and on the field performance should count for the rest.
It's been shown this year that all the voters don't watch the games. One voter moved Florida up 2 spots after they lost to USF.

They beat a ranked SEC LSU team. A ranked Miami team. A ranked Clemson team. Beat an SEC Florida team. Handily beat a ranked Louisville team for the conference. That was the last game FSU starters played. You said "win the games and the rest will take care of itself". FSU won the games. All of them. It didn't take care of itself.

Want to talk about a weak conference? From 1990-2023 the ACC had 8 championships and the Big10 had 3… where Alabama lost in the first round that year. The ACC is second only to the SEC in recent championships… far from a "weak conference" you idiot

Look at 2025 ND. Look at today's ranking of Alabama over Tennessee. Not a single person outside the state of the cousin lovers believes Alabama is a good football team. The rankings are and have been a disaster.
