Bald Eagle @ JPP

Couldn't believe it, but I saw a bald eagle out at 7 points last Friday and Saturday. Reading someone else's post reminded me that I wanted to post about it here. Was doing some crappie fishing on the lower end across from the main point. On Saturday, we saw it crash the water and grab a fish. My mouth dropped wide open. Was the first time, that I know of, that I've ever seen one in person.

Is this a rare occurrence for this area?

I was out there last friday and saw an osprey do the same thing. There used to be several Bald Eagles out there but have not seen one lately. Pretty cool sight though.

theres a bald eagle that i have been seeing regularly on the lower caney over the winter. their makin a huge nest on top of a tree. and theres a pair up in dale hollow in around mitchell creek. awsome sighting for sure!

Cool! The last time I was up at Reelfoot some of the locals were calling them glorified buzzards. They didn't see what all the fuss was about.

After I posted this, I did a google search for "Bald Eagle, Percy Priest," and this WKRN Channel 2 story came up from just a few days ago. Looks like they're quickly moving into our area of Middle Tennessee.

I've been seeing one (not sure if it's the same one or not) around the lower part of Priest for several weeks now. It is one of the most impressive, beautiful things I've seen in nature!!
