I have never actually just baked cabbage by itself, when ever I have made stuffed cabbage or "golumpki" I usually place 2 or 3 cabbage leaves over the top of the baking dish to prevent scorching and drying out of the main dish. The top leaves usually turn really dark/black in color from the heat.
If baking, I would suggest a covered pan at 350 degs for at least 1 hr.
