Already have heard a couple people in cwd area who said they are baiting with corn at their cameras. Common thought seems to be that since the state is making it legal to hunt them over corn with a paid bait license, it must not be such big a concern with spreading the disease.

But yeah the new reg/law will go into effect for the 2026-27 season.

I doubt it. With the passing of the bill they clearly don't care about cwd anymore.

Twra may care the commission doesnt. Hunters are torn because there's a lot out there with no real answers.

Take that up with your representatives. They passed it after TWRA took a public stance against it for multiple years. Do you really believe that TWRA would publicly come out to lawmakers against something the commission supported? Neither TWRA nor the commission have the authority to thumb their noses at the laws of the state.

There won't be any legal baiting this fall. That much we know.
