Who uses them? My brother lives in Florida and I am going to visit in early June. I think I am going to buy one and give it to him. He uses a cheap insulated bucket with an aerator which keeps bait alive for the day. A friend has an Engel and we were around crystal river in May and he kept shrimp alive for 4 days without changing the water. Just wondering if there might be a knock off that is just as good and save a few bucks.

I have the 30quart magellan from academy. $60. It does a great job. If I had it to do over, I would buy the 19 quart. The 30 is extremely heavy. Bass pro has frabill with built in areator for a little more- 13 qt for $79 and 19 qt for $89.

I have a 19 and a 30 Engel. Only regret I have is not buying two 30's. I have had a couple lids split from the handle, but they replaced them no problem. I have kept bait for a week on oxygen in LA.

Academy has a knock off I've got and it works great. It's academy's brand.

Are these bait coolers decent enough to use for a livewell? Or deadwell? I was just wanting something to do double duty for my Jon Boat. I don't keep many fish but I do keep an occasional fish or two.

I imagine if you got the 30 quart it could be used as a live well for smaller fish but not sure what the limit would be before it can't keep up.
