Bag Target Rec?

Anyone else had bad experience with Morel Eternity bag wannabe's? And should I assume that Eternity targets are still the best way to go? I had one for a few years but my Redhead BPS bag is only two years old and shot out. Not only did the colors fade quickly, now arrows are going through and through. And dang it if I don't hate spending $$ on targets. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

It isn't a bag target, but by far the best value for the money is a blob target. You can shoot FP and broadheads into it. I have one that I've had for 3 years now and it is holding up fine, but I shoot at the blob, a range bag and an assortment of 3D targets. I have a friend that exclusively uses the blob for two years now and his holding great through 1,000's of shots.

As far as bag targets go, the best bag target IMO is the Delta/McKenzie Range Speed Bags. http://dmtargets.com/archery-targets/range-bag It is what we use at the ASA National tournaments and they take a ton of abuse over a 4-day period getting shot 10-20,000 arrows at a minimum. I bought one after one of the tournaments that was shot up pretty bad for cheap two years ago and it is still holding up.

Another thing is how you take care of the target. If you just plop on the ground it won't last long, compared to if you build a frame for it and take some of the pressure off of the bottom of the target where everything will get compacted. I'll take some pics tomorrow of a cheap, easy frame—especially if you know someone that has a welder.

Thanks a bunch for the frame tip. Guilty as charged. Been meaning to make one for a while but still, my old Morrell Eternity bag took a BUNCH of shots, used and abused on the ground. I'll check out the Blob and McKenzie targets. Thanks again.

I have a blog also. I need another one for the other end of the yard. I've been having a bag on the fence and a blog against the shed.

Here is my bag target setup. You can get the tubing 1/2" from Lowe's or most hardware stores fairly cheap.

Those cheap bag targets is all I used. You can't leave them out in the weather and you need to turn them every now and then, and fluff them up, or even out the material on the inside. And make a target stand like they have said

You can buy a rhineheart 18 in 1 (129 dollars or so at academy beside me) or the rhineheart block style target (169 dollars or so) both of them together and may last a season or 2 with broadheads, no other target on the market will last with broadheads, none. The blob from what I am seeing ($135) is lasting for up to 10 years, even with broadheads.

You can buy a rhineheart 18 in 1 (129 dollars or so at academy beside me) or the rhineheart block style target (169 dollars or so) both of them together and may last a season or 2 with broadheads, no other target on the market will last with broadheads, none. The blob from what I am seeing ($135) is lasting for up to 10 years, even with broadheads.

For my shooting at least, I can't tell any difference between Grim Reapers and field points, so a good bag target is all I need right now. That's pretty impressive though, what you say about the Blob targets.

For a bag target you can't beat Third Hand Archery's Rag Bag, you stuff it with old clothes and it's better than any of the commercial bag targets. When the bag wears out, buy a new bag and recycle the old clothes into the new bag!

I know of approximately 400 blobs sold in middle tennessee in the last 9 years and only 3 have needed replacing and all that I personally that own them are not even close to needing replacement.
