I have had a Badlands backpack for 4 years now. Still looks and functions like brand new and I have really used it hard. Best pack I have ever had.Good experience for me.

I have the Monster Fanny pack. I love it. With the cinch straps on the bottom (to hold extra layers of clothing) it really leaves a lot of room for things.

The pockets are laid out (on your hip) are perfect for calls and/or range finders, etc.

The only issue I've had with it is the strap that goes from the actual pack to the shoulder straps has a crappy designed 'lock'. I've had to modify mine because it kept giving.

I have a Badlands day pack and it has carried massive weight, way overkill for a day pack. Now it is retired and carries 50 lbs of electrical engineering books every day of its life. I think it is the best pack I have ever bought.

Just an FYI, badlands has a lifetime warranty and will fix your pack no matter what you do to it. I have a 2800 pack and the internal frame tore the inside of the pack about a 1/2 in tear. I sent the pack back and thy sent me a brand new one.

As mentioned by poser their quality may not be as high as other pack makers, but IMO you can't beat the good quality they have with the included warranty.

The biggest issue I have with any of them are the "chincy" zippers most have. Try opening some with gloved hands. I'll go for the one with the biggest zippers. A lot of gun cases have the same issue. Considering your expected life span with gear a couple of extra bucks up front well worth it.

I have a bad lands pack that I used for elk hunting this year and it was great. On top of that my guide ended up having the same one and has carried it for several years and packed out elk with it with no problems.
