Finally got a new gun safe and put the guns from my 40 year old gun cabnet and the overflow of guns that were socked up in the closet (both places worried me to no end) in a more secure environment.

I went thru the ammo I had locked in a steel cabinet to check condition of it before putting it in the safe. I found a number of old cartridges and shells that were in the bottom of the cabinet which had moderate to severe corrission problems (moisture from concrete floor, bad stuff). No way I will shoot those.

But I am wondering, where to dispose of the bad ammo? Can't shoot it, Won't throw it in the garbage or or bury it -- obviously I need a source for proper disposale.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Pull it, drop the powder in the flower beds and then water them, soak the casings w/ primers in oil (will make them inert) and if you have enough brass, take it to the recycler or throw it away (depending upon how much you have.
