I was digging some trench to install some storm water drainage in my backyard and out popped this guy. Pretty awesome considering I was only 6" down I live in a well established subdivision in Gallatin.

No actually live just east of Gallatin right off Hartsville Pike. It made me want to dig holes all over my yard, lol.

Very cool man.

Found 1 on the tee box at Fulton Country Club on hole number 8 one day.
Found 2 while playing at Doe Valley when it was open.
Found 1 right in the middle of a cow path while dove hunting at my friends one day.

Never know where they will pop up. :)

Well, same yard working a drainage swale this time and I'm pretty sure I dug an old civil war era lead bullet.

Man I tell ya. I'm actually going to borrow a metal detector and see what else I can find, including my neighbors yard.

I got a pretty sweet metal detector now from a friend, I'd love someone to take me to some land and help me find some cool stuff...I'm located in Summer County and I live right off the Historic Avery Trace. I have access to a small farm in Trousdale County, but would like to maybe hunt some lands closer to civil war camps or skirmishes. I'm sure they've been hunted hundreds of times, but man I just love history.
