I have a new Summit Goliath SD climbing stand. I dont care for the factory straps. So i ordered 2 different ones to try.

XOP treestand transport system.

Summit treestand universal backpack system

I love my stand. I added the rifle rest. And the foot rest.
Wondering which one works the best. For carrying in the hills.

I use the Summit back pack system on mine. I have the XOP as well and couldn't figure a good way to get it on. I think I ran out of patience though. Lol. The backpack system would be better with the kidney belt but is much better than the stock straps. I hunt almost exclusively with a viper and make some long walks.

Same here although I don't use mine a ton.

Agree. Kidney straps would help and be nice. Before using this system, I used the military shoulder straps with kidney belt. This system beats my old system too. I too hike long into the woods at times. The balance this has is so much better. Belt would be nice, but not totally necessary.
That said... I may look to add the old kidney belt and see how it feels.

I have 2 of the xop systems for standard and Goliath. I love them only problem the chest strap ain't made from man's chest. I'm not a big guy. I'm pleased cause it gets most of the weight off shoulder and onto your hips. Set up is tricky but worth it!
 
I just got the Summit one this year. So far I really like it compared to the factory ones I used forever. Much more comfortable.

Yeah I have a very small fanny pack and it prevents me from toting the kitchen sink in a backpack.

I few other things I do, I also pack in a few small bungees and a couple of pillow cases in my fanny pack. if I end up killing a deer I can do a gutless method without having to make an extra trip. Also I can put my rifle in my coat and bungee it to the stand along with the pillow cases full of meat. I have a small saw and would also cut a dual set of ski poles/ walking sticks to help me balance and lean forward with a weighted pack.

I went in the cold Monday. Took a pop up blind, buddy heater, 2 tanks, full size pack that was stuffed, binos, and a rifle. I only walked about 300 yards but it's straight up hill and I didn't want to make several trips. I toted it all in with a deer cart. Worked really well while on the trail but struggled in the bush.
