I haven't had boiled peanuts in a long time. I made up a batch of the spicy ones tonight and after about 4 hours of simmering they're just right.

I love them of course I'm originally from sc but aint nothin better. I just have a hard time finding raw ones around here. I like to even put em in the microwave and heat em up some fo they taste fresh.

If your talking to me then you got it wrong about anything I cook being good. I made some supposedly herb rice awhile back and used fresh herbs out of the garden and it tasted like cr-p the dog wouldnt even eat it. lol But it is hard to screw up boiled peanuts. You should have tried em' in SC they were probably fresh.

I do it the same way.
I can understand why people think they are gross. they are just thinking of a peanut as in roasted or peanut butter. I guess its like grits I couldnt live without em' grew up on them but I got some friends that say they can't stand them. Maybe the peanut should be thought of more like a potato. lol

The slimy ones have usually been boiled too long. At least for my liking. I like mined boiled to "chewiness." They're soft, but still have a little pop to them when you bite in. No slime.
