Talking to my boys, it was between a doberman and Australian Shepard what we are looking for. Are they good with kids? Mine are 6 and 9.
They're very friendly. Just hyper as they're still puppies. They do like to jump up but with a little work that could be cured. They've been out of town this week so I took care of them until I had to go out of town Wednesday. I'd pop their nose if they started to jump up and say no. They know what it means just need somebody to continue working with them. I'd turn them out in the morning and put them back up at dark.

Best way to break a dog of jumping up is to hold them up when they do it so they have to stand on back feet only. They will tire of that quickly and want to get back onto all fours but don't let them. Couple times playing that game and they won't jump up again.
