I'd love to have a Yamaha Rhino or Polaris Ranger and have been looking at them on craigslist, LSN, and anywhere else I can see them. Think it would be great around the house and in 99.9% of hunting situations. I have a 99 Honda Fourtrax 4x4 300 that I bought new 13 years ago and it's as strong today as they day I brought it home. She doesn't get used much at all. I'm torn between selling it and buying a UTV or just keeping it. I can't afford to keep it and buy one or that's what I'd do. I don't NEED a UTV for sure as the Honda has served me well but I sure would LIKE to have one as it would be easier hauling my son and I with our gear. So out of curiosity what would you do? Sell the 4-wheeler and buy a UTV or keep the 4-wheeler until such time I can by a UTV outright?

I kept my honda 300 4x4 after I bought my first utv.. I live on a farm.. and it sat in the edge of the driveway until my mt cur tore the seat and cables and hoses off of it trying to get at a mouse under the seat... 600 dollars worth of damage.lol.. I took it to the shop to get it fixed and the guy who fixed it liked it and bought it from me.. I havent missed having a atv at all..

I have the same deal going on. We have two hondas, a. 98 fourtrax and a 04 Rancher. If I sold both of them they probably wouldn't bring 5K total. Whatever you do make sure and look into the Polaris RZR. Those things are awesome! That's the only UTV I'd get.
A friend of mine has a rhino and RZR. For pure fun the RZR wins hands down and will absolutely fly but the bed, if you can call it that, is way too small to really haul anything.

Gravey what would you want $wise for your 300?
It's worth more to me than it would be anybody else so I haven't really thought about it. A friend of mine's dad has asked me to price the it to him but warned me to be prepared to part with it if I did. He's on some search and rescue team and wants it for that. In my opinion it's the best 4-wheeler ever made period.

Some of the benefits over an atv I like are the scent reduction on your clothes since you have a floorboard and not straddling the engine. It's like your driving a mini truck with all the bed, roof, racks. Room for cooler, guns, deer cart, tree stands, backpack etc.

Need a little bigger trailer but I don't think I could go back to a 4 wheeler.

I found a 2007 rhino that is in excellent shape and I picked it up yesterday. The guy took really good care of it and it has everything on it that I'd put on. Had planned on selling my 4-wheeler but got back home and my wife said my son didn't want me to. Sainud to sell his and keep it so if I can swing it I am.

I was in the same predicament. I have a 1996 Fourtrax 300 4x4, that I bought new in 96. I had been eyeing the Polaris RZR 800 efi for a while. I did buy the Polaris Razr 800. It is only 48" wide and goes about anywhere a 4-wheeler can go. It doesn't have much of a bed at all, so i bought a 46 or 48" wide basket for the rear and added 2 large caster wheels for when I have to carry a deer or anything else heavy out of the woods. When not in use, I just fold the basket up. It does great. I decided to keep the 4-wheeler, cause you never know that if money got tight, it would make better sense to sell the Razr than to sell the 4-wheeler.

I have a Polaris 900 XP, this is one bad boy...and yes there is a big difference between the 800's and the 900. I promise. I vote UTV. Like a caddilac in the woods and a demon on hills or any kind of recreational riding.

I just bought me a Kawasaki Teryx , guess I'm gonna sell my Brute Force because I seriously doubt I will ride it anymore.
A buddy of mine has the 4 seater Teryx and it's nice. Went up to his 40th birthday party and drove it. Just never knew much about Kawasakis.

It was the rhino or ranger for me. Just happened to find the rhino first. I kept my 4-wheeler and if my son doesn't go with me I may just throw it in the back of the truck rather than pull the rhino on a trailer. May depend on how cold it is because having a windshield will be nice. LOL Here's my rhino. Wheels, tires, & winch just added in March.

Thats a nice ride. Where did you get the toolbox and will a beer cooler still fit in behind it?
not sure on the toolbox as it was already on it when I bought it. I thought about selling it because it takes up half the bed but a deer will still fit and it will be nice to put your gear in there especially in bad weather so I guess I'll keep it for now. All that to say I googled them and they were anywhere from $200 to $450. Yes a cooler will still fit back there depending hon how big you're talking. You could always drop the gate and strap it in just fine.
