Arrow spine

My set is as follows bear take down B riser #3 limbs 64" recurve 50lb @ my draw of 31"
I been testing some 500 spine arrows @ 32.5 inches long with 145gr tip 50 gr and 75 gr insert
I originally thought they would be way under spine but they seem to fly nicely.
Must of the spine charts say I should be in the 400 or 340 spine range.

Just curious what you think about the 500's with my set up?

The key factor: "they seem to fly nicely".
i think your setup is fine. the charts are starting points/suggestions. they're not chiseled in stone. i tried the heavier spines and had terrible flight. it took me a couple of years to get my combo where i'm happy. i could tell a difference between brands. i would mix easton, GT and CE in the quiver and shoot all at a target. each brand consistently grouped with itself. i now stick with one brand in my carbons. i think if you will take these and only shoot that combo, you will enjoy it more.

now i'm glutton for punishment because since i made my selfbow i'm trying wood arrows. :bash: :rotf:
but when i get in the deer stand this fall, carbon arrows will be the only shaft in my quiver for a few weeks. right now i'm trying to find a wood combo to match my carbon on the target at 20 steps.

I am shooting gt 500 / black eagle 500 and some gt 400 , the 500 bare shafts are grouping with the fletched. I am going to stick with the 500's but i was surprised when the 500 bare shafts didn't read weak. Evidently arrow spine has as much to do with the shooter as the equipment. I am on several forums and see guys shooting heavier spine With less poundage and draw length than myself yet shooting really well. I want to try some wood arrows soon.

from what i read it does. the more center shot the bow is the better it tolerates the heavier spine along with how clean the shooter's release is my understanding.
i seem to have a tendency to pluck so the lighter ones work better for me and i still get them inside the 8-10 gr/lb arrow weight.
