Saw this ad today and thought someone here may be interested. While it is very expensive by my standards ($19/acre), the convenience and savings in gas for some here in SW TN may make it a worthwhile investment.

I've seen a few leases go for as much as $17/acre in the last five years in Hardeman and Fayette counties. I too think this is absurd, but I'll bet there are just as many others who don't and would pay it in a heartbeat.

I would love to have a place nearby, but it looks like they limit the hunting to deer and squirrels only. For that price, there should be no limits on the game you can hunt. I currently pay about $6.50 per acre for land in Hardeman County...if a season is open, I can hunt.

I called and spoke to the landowner (just for the heck of it), and he was a very nice and easy to talk to kind of guy. I think the ad mentions squirrel and deer because that is all he has ever seen on the farm, thus that is all one can realistically expect to hunt and kill on this piece of ground. He did not explicitly state that, but he kind of inferred it. Again, I did not ask him that exact question, but that is what I got out of the conversation.

I don't even wanna mention what we have to pay for our leases in Rossville but it's more per acre than that. The price for being able to hunt great land 10-15mins from collierville I guess.

I believe you. The cost of convenience can get very pricey at times.

Bet they get what their asking. It's a lot of money but someone out their will pay it. Especially if if two hunters are allowed to hunt it.

Down the street, Wilders will lease for 45 an acre and they get it
