One just came through chasing a young but well above average 8 point, I have been hearing them in the swamp below me and on the ridges, guess my afternoon is done
 
It just came back through, guess it lost the deer, small dog, the deer probably could have stomped it a couple of times and killed it, it's still alive but only cause it was lucky
 
Yeah, it's agrevating as all get out. Its happened to me a lot and I feel your pain.
Too bad the buck didn't stomp it.
I live in the country and have two dogs myself. Only difference in me and the neighbors is I care for my dogs and keep them up.
 
I've had a dog either meet me at my tree barking at me, or circle around me the entire evening each time I've went for an evening hunt this year so far, its already old...
 
Many years ago I was hunting in Alabama. Well during a mornin hunt I heard dogs barking, they were gettin closer. Then I see a deer running ahead of the dogs. It's a buck. They ran by me about 100 yards away and circled back. The buck was now a few hundred yards ahead of the dogs, he stops 50 yards from me and I shoot him. He dropped in his tracks. A few minutes later the dogs showed up. I wanted to hug them dogs but they wanted no part of me. They just walked away and I never seen them again .

Steve, that dog sounds aggressive to me... just saying.

I came real close to shooting one on public land last year, that, in hindsight, I should have. I was on the ground and it was growling at me, but it had a tracking type collar on it and I didn't want the trouble. It was a bulldog of some sort, and if it would have taken one more step it would have been toast. If it had attacked someone else later I would have felt responsible, as I could have done something about it. I later saw it and a few others chasing deer on the property an put 2 and 2 together. I called the GW, but he never found anything. If I see it again I will not hesitate again.

Well said, i wish that buck would have caved its head in. Kudos to you for being a good neighbor. I have a few neighbors like you that care for their dogs and how they treat others. They also happened do be some fine people. I have a few that let them do as they please and they are sorry sacks,loony or both, every single one.

So it's not just my neighbors!

Anyone else notice that often those who don't care what their dogs do or where they are (and they usually have a bunch of them) are so often totally loony tunes? That sure seems to be the trend in my area.

I've got one neighbor that has about 20 dogs they let run free, and they live in two old mobile homes connected together at the end of a gravel road in a yard that looks more like the city dump than a yard. And they are plumb crazy.

This is a pit bull. And yes, I'm developing a fear of this dog.

Im getting chill bumps :D My second worst neighbor, i call her the dog hoarder, lives in a camper with a shed addition built on to it. She has 10-15 at any given time. Her windows on her car are stuck in the down position and she has hefty sacks for windows. Ya'll wave if you see her. :)
 
Oh, do I ever know the type Planking...

"Dog hoarders." Yup, that's exactly what they are. And for all their hoarding, they don't seem to care where all those precious animals are at ay given time.
 
I killed this buck after local dogs chased deer all around me for the better part of an hour an I shot at the dogs three times trying to run them off and never got close........within 10 minutes of their departure, and one hour after shooting the last of 7 does this boy shows up out of nowhere.......never quit hunting because of the presence of coyotes or dogs....I have succeeded more than a few times! Just hunt
