Are your bucks bigger or smaller?

Question for those of you that have killed a buck that you had gotten pics of. Were they what you expected or were they bigger or smaller.

About what I figured.

First year for me running cameras was last year. I had picked out 6 of the 30 plus bucks using the property that I would want to kill. I killed 1 after passing 12 others he was a good deer but somewhat smaller than I had visioned him being not much just a tad. Still worthy off a place on the wall.

I've only killed one buck that I had pictures of. I had numerous photos of him while he was in velvet. I knew he would be smaller, but I was shocked when I saw how much smaller he really was when the velvet was gone.

Well I've killed 2 that I've got pics of one the past 2 years. The first was a tall narrow racked 10pt. He was close to what I thought he was but smaller. The second was a 5.5 year old 9pt. He was defentantly bigger.

I've killed two and both were what I expected them to be, one was 125 and the other was 127, I thought they would be around 125.

I've had pictures all summer of two more that were killed on neighboring properties. One was a 9 that I thought would go around 130, he ended up going 141 and the other was a stud 10 that I thought would go low 140's and he went 154. Neither of those lost much mass when they lost velvet. The 10 was aged at 6.5 and the 9 was 5.5

And the smaller ones I killed, I had to shoot a buck. I've been extremely patient on the property I hunt, but a 120+ inch deer walks into bow range, I can't help myself.

Same with me, most of the time they are either about what I think they will be or a little smaller.

I have yet to kill a buck that I've had on camera. I've had the chances at some of the smaller bucks I've seen but none of the bigger ones. In fact I've only had multiple pics on multiple dates of 3 of the biggest bucks I've had on camera. I have had some of the bigger ones killed by other hunters. Last year I had what I judged to be about a 140" buck that went about 142". My most memorable was my first good buck on camera back when I first started fooling with cameras about 15 years ago. He wasn't a monster but I was impressed with the overall camera thing capturing bucks while I wasn't there. He was killed about 3 weeks after I got his pics just 300 yards from where I got his pictures. The guy got him mounted and I gave him an 8 X 10 of his buck to hang beside him.
