Arctic Shield?

There are so many different sets. I went to Bass Pro and tried on the 2.1, 3.1, 4, and 7. I noticed that some people complain about it being loud. The only one that I thought was loud was the 2.1.

Now, how good does it work in cold weather and what number set would you suggest? I think I want the H7.

From what I have read, the lower the number the higher the insulation factor. So, depending on your individual needs and hunting style.............you would have to make that choice yourself.

Not every persons body generates the same heat results, what might work for you may not work for the next guy who tends to get colder faster if not moving some.

Also, it would depend on where/why you were purchasing it.........If planning a hunt to nothern Canada, H7 would not be the best choice, not would H2 in southern Florida.

The way I understand it is that they are all warm, the higher numbers have more pockets or options, like underarm zippers and removable liners.

Correct as well, the different levels have different features. Here is an article about "what one should I buy":

The H4 Series is a bit lighter than the H3 Series. The H5 Series is just as warm as the H3 Series but offers ventilation features to help you keep cool when needed. We have hunters wearing the H3 Series from northern Canada to the Southern states who report warm results. However, if you mainly hunt during cooler weather and not necessarily when itï¿½s bitterly cold, the H4 or H5 Pro Series may be more appropriate.

You may also consider how active you are while outdoors. The H5 Pro Series is a good choice for all types of hunters, especially for those who stay on the move. The H3 Series is a good choice for those sitting in blinds or treestands.

ive have the h9 series probably same as h7, its still extremely warm and im a cold natured person, its extremely quite, and the under arm zippers and tons of pockets rock. but the achiles heal is how it leaked on me in a 4 hr rain. its advertised waterproof but its not, i would call it water resistant.
