Archery and shotgun for turkey

If I am hunting turkeys with my kids.....can they have a shotgun and I have a crossbow so that each of us have only one hunting device? If the answer is "Yes", can I shoot a deer with the crossbow in case one comes in range?

Both kids have hunter safety and we will be hunting on our own land.

I am aware that during the fall shotgun turkey season, a hunter may not possess both a shotgun and archery equipment.

No. During the deer archery season hunters with bows can't be accompanied by anyone with a gun.
