I saw several AR's on the table at the local gunshow for $1200(unsold), in 3 months they will be back to or close to normal barring a major legislative change. (Economics 101)

Take a gander at Gunbroker for ammo prices, AR prices, 1911 45 ACP prices. Still through the roof and still being sold. Magpul 30 round mags, 3 for 99 TO START and being bid on, as much as 45 each.
When congress fails to act on the AWB then we should see panic selling and a very quick return to normalcy, provided the resident idiot in chief doesn't Executive Order us into another round of panic buying, horading, and speculation.

Aking price and selling prices are two different things. Last gun show I was at there were of ton of people standing outside with AR's and $2000 price tags that nobody could even care less about. I notice on all the gun forums I watch in the for sale areas you are starting to see "price reductions" and absolutley no interest in overpriced AR's, AK's, AK parts kits, mags, 223 ammo etc. Also a lot more reports of AR's hitting the shelves at WM and LGS. They are still selling fast but not at the high levels they were month ago. Give it another month and prices should be back to reasonable, although not were they were pre Sandy Hook.W.Seay said:Prices aren't going down where I'm at!

A friend of mine has bought 2 within the last week, new in box, for $1100 out the door.

prices people will start letting them go for closer to what they paid or just keep them. When the selling prices get lower people will no longer be buying new guns with the intent of flipping them for a quick profit, and they will be back on the shelf for a reasonable price. Nobody wants to be the one holding the merchandise when the bottom falls out. When Obama got in the first time ammo prices jumped and stayed high for 4-5 months and quickly lost 30 percent of its retail value over a period of 2 months then continued to settle out slightly higher than before the price jump. Dealers started dumping ammo/inflated guns like rats getting off a burning ship when prices fell to avoid having more in the ammo than what it was currently selling for. That scenario will happen soon if Obama fails to pass new legislation.
History will repeat at least I hope so.
