Just got my rifle put together tonight. PSA M4. I am planning on putting a scope I already have on it with a picatinny riser to get by for a while.

My question is what type of optics would you recommend for tactical/hunting situations. I really like the looks of the Nikon P-223 3x32 with scope mounts.

Thoughts?

You can get budget M2's all over the place for a fraction of the cost. Like this one. They work great and hold up pretty well.

2moa red dot sight of some kind. Primary Arms is ok. If I'm shooting over 100 yards a 3x9 works just fine.

I've got a Millet 1-4x24 on mine. It is a little bulky, but I like having a real scope on it for a range of activities. It's not a true 1x, but pretty close and there are better 1-4 scopes on the market, for more money.
