Before Christmas, I asked for advice on a sight for my sons DPMS Panther. I bought him the Burris AR-F3. To install it, I had to remove the grip at the top of the rifle. Doing so eliminated the rear sight. Is there a way to install this sight and keep a rear open sight?

Also, my son also got a front hand grip, see the picture. There were no instructions whatsoever and I can't figure out how to install it.

Lastly, he also got an Ozark Armament green laser, which seems redundant but I'm just a dad. Again, there are no instructions on how to install it. I've attached a picture of all of the parts. I would appreciate any advice. My son had to leave town to visit his in laws and I told him I'd have it put together when he got home.

The grip and laser look like they need to be installed on picatinny rails. There are handguards that have 2 sided, or 3 sided or 4 sided picatinny rails. See pic below. This one of mine has 4 sided picatinny rails. On his handguards, you can got to academy sports and buy a single picatinny rail to install in the holes in the bottom of the handguards. Handguards will have to come off to do so. I would suggest though taking those handguards off and putting either polymer or aluminum handguards on with Picatinny rails. Hope that makes sense. As for the rear site, you will need to move the Burris forward and install a flip up site on the last row of the picatinny rail to the rear.
 
He needs a new handguard and a smaller rear sight. There are dozens of options for each on the market.
Something like this. There's a Magpul MBUS pro rear sight on the rear of the bottom gun.

Inexpensive ProMag quad rail. It's like $40 at Academy.

They're both Trijicon ACOGs. The top one is a TA11 and the bottom a TA33 with .300 blackout reticle.

At minimum, I'd look at something like a Magpul MOE handguard. You can add aluminum rail sections to it to attach your accessories (your choice for those is another matter).

With the front sight post you can get to where you want with the Magpul MOE Mlok carbine handguard. And a couple of mlok picatinny rails for your accessories and you're good to go. Move your optic forward on the receiver and install a Magpul rear backup sight.
