Do you have to send a upper to a FFL or can you order them straight to your door? After I get my M4 payed for, Im gonna order a dedicated upper for a .22LR conversion or maybe a 6.8SPC upper.

You can get a upper shipped direct. I've done it several times. Spikes makes a good .22 upper and Kotonics makes a good 6.8 upper.

Yep

Do you have to pay for a background check if you just buy the upper?I've been thinking of getting a .450 upper.I think bushmaster makes them.Would a bushmaster upper fit on a colt lower?

no back ground check needed, some colts had a large Dia. pin so you would have to see what you have.If you have the large pin you will need offset pin to mount the bushmaster upper on your colt .but either way it can be done

double check the pin. Odds are the colt will have the larger pin. They make adapters for them.
