AR-15 jamming trouble

I have recently traded for an AR-15 and I am having jamming trouble out of it. The brass isn't ejecting properly and is getting hung up in the bolt. It doesn't do it after every shot, but I haven't shot a full 30 round magazine without it happening yet. I don't know what kind of upper the gun has, but it is clean and looks to be well maintained. Anyone else had this issue?

Check the magazine, could be as easy as that.

Also, what kind of ammo are you using?

I had that problem with mine, turned out to be the reloads I was shooting didnt quite have enough powder to get a good clean burn..

Using American eagle ammo and magpul mags.

I'd add clp or oil to the bolt carrier and check the ejector travel for smoothness.

And make sure the gas key is tight.

that was my problem. tightening and properly staking the screws solved it.

clean all the carbon out of it. ammo is important with black rifles. if all else fails deep six it for a bolt gun. lol i have carried m4's all over the world and if given a choice would not be my first pick.

unless you have a piston upper, clean the gas tube with a pipe cleaner.
