If you plant now you will probably (i would) want to water them regularly. Use natures helper (home depot, lowes also sells a knock off) it will help retain H20.
 
Man that is what i do. I bought a pear at lowes (and i have a lot of crabapples as well) that i pot in a larger pots (7.5g) and water/fert them until fall then plant. its easier for me. my farm is a hour away, i have taken H20 up there and vowed not to do it again. hahah.

Guess that is what Im gonna do,but with all this rain,its tempting to plant em.

Honestly when ever I can get a chance! Usually the end of Dec. However you can plant anytime after they lose their leaves. The earlier the better. The end of Dec works for me. I am sure everone has their oponion(guys feel free to chime in).

I would suggest planting them at home IN THIER POTS. It will help hold the water in. You can either dig holes or just cover the pots with mulch. Plant the trees in the ground this Fall.
