Anyone use the GoPro camera on their hunting firearm to capture the shot? I seen a couple videos on U-Tube which they look great and it's HD.......I like to get someones opinion. I need a camera mounted on my Excalibur before the season opens.....

Never on a firearm but have used several in and on racecars and race bikes. very easy to use, lightweight and stable. I am going to try one on my bow this year.

Ditto. Borrowed a friend's to use during autocrosses and got some neat video. They're wide angle, so not sure how well it would work for deer unless they were very close.

The zoom might be a problem with a really long shot. As far as the recoil goes, the tire shake on a fast drag car is very violent and didn't bother it at all.

And remember that the further a camera is zoomed out, the more it shows shakiness and vibration and the more you need to have it on a tripod or some kind of mount instead of in your hands. The way I was taught, you "zoom with your feet" - a longer lens is no substitute for getting closer.

The GoPro is a great value and takes quality video, I'd recommend it.
