I could be using any one of my AR's with 75gn ammo. But I don't see a reason to when I have a ML that does the same thing but cheaper. Most of my shots are below 100yds anyhow. So no need for higher power. Even if I needed to take a shot out to as far as 250yds. My CVA Wolf does a dandy job at it, and it's a .50 cal..

I haven't had a chance to sight in my 270 so my muzzleloader is going with me Tuesday and Wednesday.

Am still using my mz. I can only get out to 125 yrds out here on the property so why get the rifle.

After I missed a shot at 210yds (misestimated the range, badly), I switched back to the 6.5 Swede. As I have some long distances, it is zeroed at 200yds.

I am still hunting with my MZ. I am hunting two differnt pieces of property where 50 yards would be a long shot on both places. My MZ is very accurate and I like to hunt with it; so, I am letting my .270 rest this year.

I'll have to ask how are you shooting a ML cheaper than CF? I use xtp bullet and smokeless and it's still 80 cents a shot. What are you shooting??

A box of 5.56mX45m 75gn Hornady ammo which is 20 rounds cost around $20. That's $1 per round. It cost me around $.75 per round for the ML. Which = cheaper to shoot! ;)

I also shoot Hornady SST 250gn and triple 7 pellets. Can get a 20 pack of the SST's for $9.25 and 777 pellets for $35. Oh yeah forgot about the 100 primers for $1. Still less than CF!

All I use is a .45 Knight. Sunday at 16:00 I took a big doe at 48 yds. she was quartering toward me, the bullet entered just below her eye and came out the top of her neck where the head and neck meets. She was dead before she hit the ground. .45 Knight Disc Elite, 110 grs. BH-209, 40x200 gr.Leigh Bullet, light tan MMP sabot, it's a deadly combination.

I use Wolf 75gr hollow points I get for about .30 cents each and I have killed two plus deer every year for the past 5 years. I would never buy hornady or any other high dollar ammo for deer hunting. You don't get your moneys worth of extra performance. Being able to to shoot a 1/2" group or a 1" group at 100 yards is not going to make a difference when you shoot at a deer. IMO
MZ is going to cost at least .75 to .80 cent a shot or more.

I'm sitting in a blind at the moment with a Ruger Old Army loaded with Lee cast swc bullets(modified) and all the Swiss 3fg it will hold. Been wanting to try it out on deer for years....got my model 94 trapper for backup just in case. LOL!
