Looking into a new barrel for my used and abused service pistol. Thinking of adding a ported barrel to help with muzzle jump. Any thoughts?

I got a Storm Lake barrel for my Glock 22 to convert it to .357 SIG caliber. That's the only part you have to change because .40 S&W magazines work fine with .357 SIG ammo. Storm Lake Barrels is located in TN and they make a great product.

I have looked @ Storm lake, seem up and up. I don't won't to re-chamber just an upgraded 40 cal. barrel. Did you get a ported or stock barrel?

I put a drop in Wolf extended ported barrel in my Glock.
Looks real cool.
But, it gave me jamms too often, that I never had with the stock barrel.
Not sure why. May need some work to help ammo feed. I put it away for now.

I got the stock length barrel. It dropped in slick as can be and has never had any malfunctions and is very accurate. Midway USA has the Storm Lake barrels cheaper than ordering from SL's website. The Glock Store used to have them even cheaper but now all they have is Bar-Sto and Wolf. I used to live 1/2 mile from the Bar-Sto factory and have bought a couple of their barrels and had them fitted there and they are very nice, but I think the Storm Lake is a better value these days. Both are more accurate than I am.

Just out of curiosity.. what's wrong with the barrel in it now? I can't imagine putting enough rounds through it to need a new barrel unless it was for cosmetic reasons. Again.. not criticizing... purely curious. :)

It's not cosmetic.
It is a way to get the benefit of a ports, but not change the slide.

I have a lot of trouble posting a pic, but do have one of my Glock with the ported barrel. I'll try and post it.
It looks real cool IMO.
