Anyone make a decent 2-7 scope that won't break the bank?

I've become a huge fan of the Leupold VX Freedom 2-7 scopes. I have them on all my guns. I need the low 2x because most of my shots are at point blank range in low light. And I'm super impressed by the VX Freedoms light-gathering back in the woods at dawn and dusk. But I just checked and Leupold has stopped making the 2-7 version. Anyone else make something comparable that won't break the bank? The VX Freedom 2-7 used to sell for $300.
 
That's a good question. For me, the 2-7x33 Leupold was king. Others probably disagree, and that's okay.

Every once in awhile, Midway will run a special on blemished Leupolds. I would encourage you to check there.

There was a Redfield Revolution 2-7 listed on here a few days ago. I think I am correct in saying, this model was made by Leupold and is still under their warranty.

And for my type of hunting - deep, brushy woods hunting in low light - the 2-7 VX Freedom is the best scope I've ever owned (although I've never owned a high-dollar scope).
 
I have two vortex diamondback 1.75-5x32's on lever guns and I love them. The one on my 336 35 Remington came on it from a member on here about 10 years ago and I've never had the turret caps off of it, and I use it every year

Just looked that up. How interesting. In my hunting situations, I can't imagine needing more than 5x.

Good light-gathering and clarity? I've never owned a Vortex scope.

My favorite 2X7 scope is a used Leupold. They are out there. The last one I bought I paid $150 for. The warranty never goes away, either. Can't be beat!

Thread 'Help Identifying a Fake Leupold Scope'

This thread is to help members identify fake Leupold scopes.
A Leupold rep told me around 2015 that Mark 4 models were being copied but other models were not. That has changed in the time since. I have seen fake VX-III, VX-3i, and VX3HD models. I am familiar with these three models and models under. Hopefully someone else can help with Mark 4's and other models.
Some of the fakes have obvious flaws that are easy to spot but the scammers are getting better because I have seen fakes in the past few months that were harder to spot.

A good rule to follow is if you have doubt about...

I've never side by side compared them to anything else but they've never left me wanting more. Super clear. Never needed adjustment in the DNZ one piece mounts. 1.75x is awesome on the lever gun, throw it up and it all just falls into place and into focus so fast it's almost like "pointing" instead of "aiming"

And that's why I like keeping my Leupolds at 2 power. Throw it up and the field of view is extremely wide. You are on the animal instantly. I'm thinking seriously about that Vortex. Turns out my brother has a Vortex on his single-shot 280 and he likes it a lot.

That was my understanding.
I have several Burris Fullfields and Signature models, which are comparable eye relief to most Leupolds.

The Burris Fullfield line seems to me comparable or better to the lower-end Leupolds.

The best place is local gun stores, if you can find one. There use to be one in Triune. It was a saddle and tack shop that sold a few guns. The scope I bought was on a rifle I didn't need. I asked him if he would sell me just the scope. They are on the gun auction sites and Ebay as well, but the pricing is out of line sometimes.

That is how I found mine. The local gun store had two and I bought both of them. One for my daughters .350 legend and my 30-30. Not sure when Leupold stopped making them but this was last fall.

There have been a few Leupolds, Redfields, and Nikons posted here ever since you indiciated an interest in the 2x7.
