I was Saturday morning when 3-4 gobblers greeted the morning from the opposite ridge I was on.

All I could do was smile and listen to the orchestra !

Sitting in blind 40 duck hunting yesterday on old hick and 30 or more turkeys came flying into the unflooded part of the feild. My hand started shaking! I just got into turkey hunting this spring and it has become more addictive than duck hunting in Michigan. So yeah I AM FEELING IT!!! LOL

I am getting more anxious about this coming season. been seeing 5 different bachelor groups on our lease, each holding anywhere from 8-15 toms. Shaping up to be a banner year, as long as we can do our part that is..

The 3 jakes (now longbeards) are in the neighbors yard right now and it seems more like shed hunting season than deer season right now.... It's not too far off... Gotta enjoy the last of deer season though.

Same here and now I've got them on my camera twice in the past couple weeks. Both times are about a dozen toms feeding on the acorns.

Not that I'm counting, but I think we're at about two months and twenty six days till opening day.

Two weeks ago I had a guest over to WT hunt.
I could see the hardwood stand (top of trees)over his stand, with pines just behind his location and a field 30 yards in front. Just after sun up I noticed a "bunch" of birds fly off roost(pines) and into the hardwood branches overlooking the field. Now I'm about 100 yards past him over a rise, opposite side of field. Thought he must be going crazy about now, he turkey hunts, Yup here comes the Text, I have turkey all around me over here? He watched them drop into the field in front. They scratched around for a half an hour before heading off into the field. He counted 36! Next question: Can I come over during turkey season? Of course you can, he flipped when I informed him that's one of the small flocks that hang in this area. I believe he's ready, had two juvys out yesterday, one had 3 walk right under his stand (first time seeing one) I know they are ready. For sure I am.
