Anyone else like ripe green tomatoes

We had one with breakfast this morning and it's actually quite tasty. The variety is Spear's Tennessee Green and I've already saved seed for next year. The plants seem to be pretty good producers as well.

Is that how they look when completely ripe? I've never had one. I've had the yellow tomatoes.

I like them pretty good. It started as a novelty though.
I planted them in my brother n law's garden and he was flabbergasted when his "better boys" wouldn't ripen!
We had some good laughs. But never revealed the truth cause he would have been rather upset!

Yep, they start out looking like any other unripe green tomato. As they ripen the skin turns to a olive greenish golden color. The one in the pic is prime eating ready.

What do they taste like compared to regular tomatoes?

They have good old fashion tomato taste but there's also a citrusy hint.

Fried green ones I love!

Fried a up a big bunch last night, with more tomorrow night. I been breading them with Andy's Red and Yellow fish seasoning the last couple of years. Both are really good!
