Anyone cutting the trash trees now?

With this cooler weather I have been hard at cutting trash trees from around my fruit and oak trees, one of my favorite management things to do, it really makes a difference

I did my Sweet Gums this time last year. Hack and Squirt.
Going to be working on Red Maples this year in preparation for controlled burns next year.

Alanthus Altissima aka Tree of Heaven, took down a bunch yesterday.

Those trees of heaven on my place kept coming back, I sprayed them for 2 yrs before killing them

Have you tried Hack and Squirt? Garlon 3 should do it.

The spray and tordon kills them, then pop up elsewhere, I think I finally got them

I have. Its probably not the best time for it, Ive been at it in the rain with a hand saw hinge cutting. I think the rain washing the scent away and masking the noise doesnt disturb them as much. Ill be at it in the spring with a chainsaw.
