I bought a new rifle and am going to buy either a zeiss 4.5 x 14 x44 rapid z 800 or a Swarovski z5 3.5 x18x44 Anyone have experience with either?

I have a Swarovski Z5 3.5-18x44 with a plex reticle. Optically the scope is fantastic. The weight of the scope is exceptionally light. I just don't like the reticle. It looks like a Leupold plex reticle which I personally don't like. I will sell you mine for $1300 shipped with insurance. It is brand new and has never felt recoil from anything except from the factory.

I also have the Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44. It is a great scope but you can see a difference optically between the Z5 and the Conquest. The Z5 is better.

I decided on the zeiss, It had the long range idiot proof features that I need.

You will not be disappointed. I have one on a .300 WM, it has been a great scope. From hunting mule deer out west to mountain whitetail here in TN.

The Conquest is no slouch in the scope world. It's quite possibly the best bang for the buck. I love them. I wish the still made the 2.5-8x32. I would replace all of my 3-9x40's with it.
