I need a new rifle about like a hole in the head but I have a hankering for a Roberts. I am a sucker for old classic calibers anyway. I really like the Ruger Hawkeye blue/walnut. That will probably be my next purchase. What say ye? Plateau Hunter

I had one years ago in a Remington Classic. They put it on a long action which was a good idea. It liked H4831 with 117 Sierras, the classic powder for the classic round.
I say get one they are nice.

You`ll never be out of brass as it is the cousin of the 8mm Mauser, 7mm Mauser, 6mm Remington.

the improved version is probably the most underrated overlooked deer round in existance..

the people at Sierra say loaded to potential it will run right with the 25-06 with heavy bullets and outrun it with 75-87 gr bullets,,,

I,ve got one built on a Mauser action. I had it built for my daughter. Now she doesn't want it. Glad I like it, it's a fun gun. I need to start loading for it though, ammo is just too hard to find.

I had one awhile back in a 760 loved that little gun,but I thought I needed a 25-06 instead,I didn't reload and it was easier to find ammo for. I miss that little gun but I'm glad I went with the 25-06 also.
