So I should be hunting a private field this weekend, but next week I'll probably give some public fields a try. Looking mainly at fields at Catoosa WMA...are these fields any better during the week when not as many people hunt or are they still packed? Only hunting a public field once and it wasn't terribly crowded, just no birds.

I hunted at wolf river during the week a few times. Only ever saw 1 other hunter.

Catoosa fields have no birds. I scouted 3 of the 4 fields yesterday morning as a possible spot for Sunday morning. I saw a TOTAL of 4 birds.

I went to the Wolf River WMA field this morning. I stayed for the first 2 hours of shooting light and never saw a bird. There was one guy with me at dawn. 2 or 3 other guys showed up later in the morning around the time I was leaving. The guy that got there early with me said he didn't see any either.

The field looks OK, but they didn't cut any rows through the corn on the back end of the field like they did last year, so there were fewer places to stand, and getting a downed bird out of there would have been a tricky feat.
