I think a state or two has permitted any rifle that was originally a black powder round. I think a 45-70 round is legal in a few states as it was originally loaded with black powder. This may be where the talk is coming from. I don't know enough either, I've just heard this.

That would kinda take the challenge out of muzzleloader hunting. I hope it doesn't happen.

The inline ML's today are so close to a single shot rifle, IMO it's not that much of a diff.
I sure would like to see the TN rifle season shortened to 1 week,and replace the rest of the time for ML hunting only.

MS and La let you use any cal larger than 38 cal in a single shot. Rumor from a few game wardens is that we are gona be able to next yr. My friends in MS use the NEF in 45-70 and say its good out to 200 yds.

It would be a great way to extend Unit B season as well. Make Muzzle Loader from Nov 1st to Dec 15th and then Gun until January... Or lessen the amount of days for Gun on the second season and extend 1st Muzzle Loader up to 1st Gun and close the gap from 1st Gun to second gun with Muzzle Loader...This would make the archery boys happy to because they could hunt archery durring the Muzzle Loader season which would have more days.

I'm for any thing that gives more Muzzle Loader days...I never understood how in Unit B we have 3 or 4 weeks of Gun but only 12 days of Muzzle Loader...and yet they claim they are trying to save our bucks and limit the doe kills by limiting hunting days between 1st ML and 1st Gun and the between 1 Gun and 2cnd Gun :crazy:

i will use my ML as i am not buying a new rifle and if they cut gun season back to 2 one week periods that would be ok by me
