A good Leupold 1.5x5 VX3 would be perfect on the Marlin 336C.Yes. I picked up a 1990 336 CS, JM stamped obviously in really nice shape in 35 REM . It's ya'lls fault! Ha! That thread….. scope for a 336 took me over the edge!

I need to look at the serial number on ours. It's over 60 years old. My dad killed his first deer with it and then I killed my first deer with it 30 years to the day. Lead bullets will work just fine in a micro groove barrel, as long as they are properly (over) sized, not pushed too hard, and preferably gas-checked. Micro groove barrels definitely can be more finicky with cast bullets, but proper materials and technique make it very doable stillMicro Groove barrels are not recommended for lead bullets
