Yes. I picked up a 1990 336 CS, JM stamped obviously in really nice shape in 35 REM . It's ya'lls fault! Ha! That thread….. scope for a 336 took me over the edge!

A good Leupold 1.5x5 VX3 would be perfect on the Marlin 336C.

I just loaded with 36 grs of varget. Using 210 grn lead cast. To range soon to see if it works. Not trying to push velocity- just large and accurate.

Micro Groove barrels are not recommended for lead bullets

TAC and Varget are currently the top powders in .35

Don't overlook Benchmark in your cast bullets. Thank me later.

I need to look at the serial number on ours. It's over 60 years old. My dad killed his first deer with it and then I killed my first deer with it 30 years to the day. Both button bucks

My favorite load for the .35 Rem is 37.0g/IMR 3031/200g RN…have killed many white tails with this load out of a couple 336s and a Rem 760…as always work up for your rifle…

I got a Vortex Classic II 1-4 x24 to go on it. Small adjustable red dot in the center of the crosshairs and it was free with my Cabela's points! Figured that should be enough for my eyes.

Micro Groove barrels are not recommended for lead bullets

Lead bullets will work just fine in a micro groove barrel, as long as they are properly (over) sized, not pushed too hard, and preferably gas-checked. Micro groove barrels definitely can be more finicky with cast bullets, but proper materials and technique make it very doable still

What kind of velocities are y'all getting with 200 gr. bullets? Mostly what I see is around 2000 or so.

37gr of IMR3031 with 200gr bullets were too hot in my 336 Marlin. Every gun is different.
FYI, Lever guns show signs of too much pressure different than bolt actions.
When you look at your fired brass.
If the primer backs out of the pocket even slightly you need to reduce the load. Hope this helps!
