I go up to Oneida Lake in NY evry May for the season opener. One of the best Walleye spots in the country. Only 6 weeks to go. Are there any good places in TN?

I live about 10 min. from Oneida. We pounded them through the ice this winter. Hopefully the bite is just as good for you in May. Do you drive up?

The headwaters of Center Hill should be good soon - anywhere from Sligo Marina to Rock Island. There is also a guy who trolls with downriggers in Dale Hollow who slays'em - he had a picture in today's Tenessean of a 12 lb Walleye caught recently. He has a website "Dale Hollow Trophy Trollers".

No, but I catch them pretty regularly when fishing for stripers at Tims Ford. Biggest one I've caught was around 5lbs.

It was ok last year, not great. We always just drift Fish Creek. If they spawn early and hit the lake it always seems hard to find them unless you're trolling.

How is the ice doing now? Probably about gone?

I fish for them in Douglas Lake/French Broad River. Them and the sauger are running now. We catch several in July up in the cool waters of the river.

Yeah the ice is almost all gone. This stretch of warm weather really hurt us. We fished for perch almost into April last year.
