Found this in my backyard with a new metal detector I got for my son at Christmas. It has a very silver look to it. Top side is fairly smooth while other side is a little rougher. Estimated weight is about 2 ounces. Just curious what it might be.
Could it not be a over flow from a mini ball casting, or a spent ball, maybe melted in a campfire. ........... There where battles fought in the area right.......

I agree with melted aluminum from the looks of it. But the weight wouldn't be right, unless you were off in your estimate. Aluminum wouldn't be 2 oz for that size. And lead would be white, even after a short time in the ground.
